When is Election Day?
Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Voting is easy and convenient!
Read below for more information on how to make sure your vote counts.
Register to vote or check your registration status.
Step 1: In order to vote, you have to register your name, address and some basic information first. You can REGISTER to VOTE HERE through the CA Secretary of State’s online portal.
If you are not sure about your registration status or need to update the information, you can CHECK your REGISTRATION STATUS HERE.
Your ballot will arrive in the mail.
Every registered voter will receive a ballot in the mail beginning the week of October 7. You can study the ballot and mark it at your own pace. Once you are done making your vote choices, put your ballot in the envelope, and return it. There are lots of ways to return a ballot: By Mail, at a Drop Box, or to a Vote Center.
TIP: If you can’t find the ballot that was mailed to you, you can still vote in person at a Vote Center.
Return your completed ballot BY MAIL, at a DROP BOX, or visit any VOTE CENTER in LA County.
There are lots of ways to return your ballot.
If you mail your ballot back, just be sure to mail it on or before November 5, 2024. It needs to have a postmark of Nov. 5 or earlier to count. You don’t need a stamp - just drop it off in the nearest mailbox.
TIP: Don’t forget to sign the envelope!
If you want to drop your ballot in a Drop Box, there are several in San Gabriel. You should drop your ballot off before November 5, 2024, at 8 pm. These drop boxes will be checked regularly by County election staff.
TIP: Don’t forget to sign the envelope!
Check back here for Drop Box locations.
If you want to vote in person, you can visit a Vote Center. Locations for Vote Centers are set closer to Election Day. Vote Centers are a good option if you want to see the person you are handing your ballot to, if you have a question or need extra assistance.
TIP: If you decide you prefer to vote in person, it helps to find the ballot that was mailed to you, and bring that with you to a nearby Vote Center. You can return that ballot marked, and the Poll Workers will receive it to be counted. If you marked your ballot and changed your mind, you can also bring that ballot into a Vote Center to exchange for a new blank ballot (they will spoil the old one).
TIP: If you can’t find the ballot that was mailed to you, you can still vote in person at a Vote Center. You may need be given a Provisional Ballot. It requires a little extra paperwork - but it will still be counted!
